Here’s today’s Final Jeopardy (in the category Shakespeare’s Women) for Tuesday, March 29, 2022 (Season 38, Game 142):
It is said of her, “Infected minds to their deaf pillows will discharge their secrets: more needs she the divine than the physician”
(correct response beneath the contestants)
Today’s contestants:
John Darcy, an editor from Los Angeles, California![]() |
Jennie Bunde, a rabbinical student from Galesburg, Illinois![]() |
Jackie Kelly, a pension calculation developer from Cary, North Carolina (2-day total: $36,301)![]() |
Andy’s Pregame Thoughts: Jackie Kelly takes on Jennie Bunde and John Darcy after becoming a 2-day champion on yesterday’s show! Through 2 games, Jackie has still been struggling on the signalling device—only getting in on a well-below-average 38% of her attempts thus far in her run. If she can figure that out, she could go on a bit of a run!
Meanwhile, there are still users who are using vitriolic language, even after over a year, towards other Jeopardy! fans who have a different host preference than they do. And that, quite frankly, is unacceptable. Especially in this area, people are allowed to prefer different hosts. That is valid. What isn’t valid is throwing personal attacks towards the other side. This needs to stop.
Thirdly, remember that as part of Jeoparday! tomorrow, for the first 10,000 people who take the Jeopardy! Anytime Test tomorrow, Jeopardy! will donate $5.80 to Stand Up 2 Cancer in Alex Trebek’s name. You can get more information about JeoparDAY! at jeopardy.com/jeoparday.
PSA: The best way to keep COVID-19 at bay (and keep Jeopardy! producing new episodes) is for everybody to get their vaccinations as soon as they are able to, including any boosters as recommended. When wearing a mask, please ensure that your mask covers both your nose and your mouth.

Wracked with guilt over convincing her husband to commit the regicide of King Duncan, Lady Macbeth begins sleepwalking in Act V, Scene I of Macbeth (This is the famous “Out, damned spot!” scene from the play). Continuing to be wracked with guilt, the audience (and Macbeth) are told that Lady Macbeth is no longer alive later in the act.
(Speaking of regicide: How many Simpsons fans these days can still quote the “You have selected regicide.” scene from “Bart of Darkness”, the opening episode of Season 6, even after nearly 30 years?)

Game Recap:
Jeopardy! Round categories: Around the World; TV Shows’ First Episodes; Where There’s a “Will”; African-Americana; Photography; Fan Fiction?
Well, it looks like Jackie has figured out the signalling device; the opening segment was a Holzhauerian performance, with Jackie picking up 9 correct, punctuated by a True Daily Double to put Jackie at a staggering $13,200 fourteen clues in. The show called for a break one clue early, very likely to give our two challengers an opportunity to regroup. It helped a little bit; both Jennie and John did do slightly better after the break, but Jackie still held a commanding lead and a score over $15,000.
Double Jeopardy! Round categories: It Happened in Egypt; Idioms & Expressions; Current Significant Others; National Days; Accurate; To 5 Decibel Places
The round was pretty much all Jackie—Jennie was unable to successfully ring in once, and John wasn’t currect until clue #15. By that point, Jackie had found the first Daily Double, and the game was all but over by the time John found Daily Double #3 very late in the round (which he missed.) Jackie had $30,800 going into Final to John’s $3,000 and Jennie’s $1,000.
Final today was a triple get, which means that Jackie picked up a massive win! She’ll go for win #4 tomorrow!

Final Jeopardy! betting suggestions:
Jackie: Your maximum bet that still keeps the runaway is $24,799.
Jennie: Not really much you can do here. The more money you keep, though, the better your chances of winning if John overbets.
John: As long as you don’t bet more than $999, you’ll clinch second place.
