March 29 is Vietnam's National Veterans Day in the United States. This day was observed in 2012 for the first time to honor the American military who served during the Vietnam War that took place amid 1955-1975. The Vietnam War included Vietnam in Southeast Asia, as well as neighboring countries Cambodia and Laos. Several million people have been killed, mainly Vietnamese civilians.

The conflict began in the 1950s when the conflict between the northern part of the communist country and the anti-communist south intensified.
